Leather: Our hardest beater is constructed of 5 discs of thick, firm leather tightly stacked together on a brass post. This beater is articulate and punchy, but with a warmth and depth to the sound not found in conventional hard felt beaters. Great general purpose beater.

Canvas: The 40 layers of canvas discs stacked tightly together produce a super round, bass-y sound, but with a surprising amount of punch and clarity. While softer than your standard felt beater, it elicits a fat, bold, warm sound without sacrificing attack and punch.

Flannel: With 50 layers of soft flannel, this beater is warm, soft and beautiful. It is far more responsive and consistent through all dynamics than a lamb’s wool beater. Soft, but with an audible attack at super soft dynamics, warm and round, even when playing super loud. For the most legato and elegant kick drum sound, this is your beater.

Suede: This beater has a big, dark, bass-y sound but with a super clear, leathery attack.  It is both more articulate and darker than our original Canvas beater but warmer all around than our original Leather Beaters.  Constructed of 18 layers of tightly stacked suede leather, this beater is a true work-horse.

Bop Softy: The diminutive descendant of the popular Big Softy.  Constructed of stacked layers of soft flannel and even softer fleece, it has all the silky warmth of the Big Softy in a substantially smaller package that is perfectly sized for small 16-20” Bop bass drums.

2-Toned: This innovative hybrid beater is designed to sound soft when playing quietly and hard and punchy when playing loud. Constructed of alternating layers of hard veg tan leather and super soft fleece, it’s perfect for feathering the drum while keeping time and then bringing some punch when kicking the band.

XL Flannel: This beater is a perfect hybrid of our Soft Flannel beater and the Big Softy.  4 layers of ultra soft fleece are sandwiched between 32 layers of soft flannel.  At 2 ½” in diameter, it is directly in between the 3” Big Softy and 2” Soft Flannel.  It gives your bass drum a huge, boomy sound with very little attack.  Less give and a little more clarity than the Big Softy, but definitely softer and boomier than the Soft Flannel.

Big Softy: Tackle Instrument Supply and Dragonfly Percussion have once again teamed up to create The Big Softy- the biggest and softest bass drum beater on the planet. Like Dragonfly’s other popular beaters, The Big Softy is constructed of tightly stacked layers of fabric on a threaded brass stem. The Big Softy sports 3” discs of soft, fluffy flannel, resulting in a huge bass response. Because the beater has no core- only the layers of fleece, there is almost no attack. This beater has a ton of give against the head, and feels as luscious as it sounds.
