1960s Trixon 'Telstar' Conical Kit & Snare in Red Sparkle - 14x16/20, 16x14/16, 8x13/14, 5x13/14

The terrific Telstar! The conical monstrosities have lurked in the hearts and minds of drummers since their debut and are in many a stables of recording drummers. The conical design allows for some tuning tomfoolery and always gets a double take.

Kick: Wrap is original and there is some lift at the seams, but there is the discoloration that happens with older sparkles. Kick hoop inlay is present but there is wear to the paint. Original T-rods on the batter side, which is the only side that would have had them since the 16” side has a tom hoop. Reso muffler is missing, but batter is present with the inlay present in the knob. The reso hoop is an original Trixon stick saver-esque. Spurs present and functional.

Floor Tom: This drum has been rewrapped, but was well done. This drum only had a batter muffler and features the inlay on the knob for it as well as the floor tom. This has vintage hoops but they are not the same as the other hoops that are on the kit. Leg mounts and legs are present and work.

Rack Tom: Wrap is tight on this drum but does have the sparkle discolored spots. Both mufflers are missing. Hoops are original stick saver-esque.

Snare: Wrap is tight, but has discoloration in the sparkle. Throw mechanism works and still features the thicker inlay pieces. Original hoops. Never had a muffler. Great shape.

Overall notes: The hardware overall has a decent amount of oxidation and pitting is present on the sides of the lugs. The spacers also have some cracking overall, but still function. Slotted rods all around. These beech shells have the orignal fat bearing edge and make for incredibly punchy drums that record incredibly well. Conical for life!
