Late 1920s/Early 1930s Ludwig 'Standard' 10-lug 2 piece Nickel Over Brass - 5x14

The model of this drum is quite a mouthful, but the sound leaves you speechless! Packing the same shell as the venerated Black Beauty, these workhorses have become tougher to find. This one has clearly been used but also taken care of. There’s a hole in the bead which we’d guess is from a heating element for calfskin. Shell does have some light dimpling around some of the lugs from where it was probably sat down a little too hard. No cracking of the lugs. Ludwig etching is still visible in the shell. Single flange brass hoops are in pretty good condition but they do have some wear on the plating. Claws show oxidation but are era correct. The beautiful Timepiece Throw is smooth and holds fairly well. A true beauty that barks in the best possible way!
