1960s Gretsch Round Badge 'Rock & Roll' in Maple Lacquer - 14x20, 8x12, 16x16
An awesome player's kit! These are original to each other and have no extra holes and just about all the original parts. They do appear to be refinished and show their wear. There was likely a second 12" with this set based on the diamond mount on the bass drum. The interiors show some wear - the silver sealer is very faint and the hardware shows corrosion. Still some orange tag remnants in the drums.Â
14 x 20 - Badge is missing. Features 16 lugs, 16x T-rods and claws, 2x original hoops (were probably originally black and sanded, inlay channels but no inlays, the front hoop was cracked and repaired), 2x original spurs, and diamond tom mount (missing bolt and wing nut). The pratt muffler was removed. This drum was the roughest finish, with little glossiness left and some scratches. The chrome is pretty good, with some light pitting on the lugs.Â
8 x 12 - Features 10x lugs, 10x tension rods, 2x die-cast hoops, diamond clip mount, and the screws of the mufflers (arms and dials missing). This drum is probably the cleanest of the three finish wise. some light checking and wear still for sure, but the drum is glossy. The chrome is pretty good with minimal corrosion.
16 x 16 - Features 16x lugs, 16x tension rods, 2x die-cast hoops, 3x Gretsch leg mounts and the original legs, and the screws of the mufflers (arms and dials missing). This finish is of this drum is pretty clean too with some expecting scratching. The chrome is pretty good with minimal corrosion.Â
